阳宅风水可分为三类：

对居家风水来说 ， 以上三类风水中应该以”人的风水”最为重要 。 房子的风水再好 ， 如果不能配合居住者的需要 ， 对这个人就不能算是好风水 。 时间的风水究竟是吉还是凶 ， 也完全看对人的需求所造成的影响而定 。 这里就要谈一谈人对风水的需求 。
风水学的流派虽然很多 ， 不过在谈到”人的风水”的时候 ， 流传最广 ， 使用起来最简便 ， 同时也最清楚明白的学说 ， 应该是东、西四命说 。
这个学说采用八分法 ， 把方位分成东、西、南、北四个正方 ， 和东南、西南、东北、西北四个偏方 。 在这八个方位里 ， 每个人都有四个对自己有利的方位 ， 就是所谓的”吉方” ， 也有四个对自己不利的方位 ， 就是所谓的”凶方” 。

《团聚经》又云：“屋少人多为人克 ， 宅吉；屋多人少为宅克 ， 人凶 。 ”所以房子大未必就是好事 。 就房型而言 ， 犹如居之口舌 ， 一般来说要遵循如下规律：南北长 ， 东西狭 ， 吉 。 东西长 ， 南北狭 ， 初凶后吉 。
断方位：如何寻找房屋的中心点
现代住宅户型图千奇百怪 ， 如何真正找到中心点普通人可能并不清楚 。 不管房子户型图如何凹三凸四的 ， 把缺角部分补齐后 ， 最后必然是方形或矩形的格局 ， 然后各画一对角线 ， 两对角线交叉位置就是屋子的中心点 。 因为风水中的很多方位 ， 都是要以屋子的中心点为标准对照的 。
