剑桥词典里对autumn years是这样解释的：

特别是指退休之后

很多人都知道
秋天有autumn和fall两种说法
只不过英国人一般把秋天叫作autumn
而美国人常会用另一个说法fall
当然也有部分美国人使用autumn
有的人以为autumn是传统说法
而fall是现代别称
其实fall的历史比autumn还要悠久
fall 的寓意是：秋天树叶凋零 fall of the leaf
而 autumn 来自法语 automne
虽然在15、16世纪已经进入英语词汇
但直到18世纪才被普遍使用
